Arapahoe Basin is one of the most unique, and friendly ski areas to snowboard. It’s located in Summit County, Colorado. One of the best regions in the world for skiing and snowboarding. Arapahoe Basin is the forgotten and under appreciated middle child of Summit County. Located just past Keystone on Highway 6 this place has it all.
Arapahoe Basin base elevation is 10,780 ft (3,286 m).
Loveland Ski Area base elevation is 10,800 ft (3,292 m)
Arapahoe Basin competes with Loveland Ski Area every year to be the first ski resort to open in Colorado. Both resorts have very high elevation at the base of the ski areas. There are ski resorts with higher peaks, but these ski areas have the highest base areas in Colorado. The first mountain to open depends on how the snow blows in, and how much snow they are able to make.
